1. Purpose
These Consultation Terms explain how initial consultations are arranged and conducted and what you can expect before, during and after your consultation with Alium International Legal Services Limited.
2. Booking a Consultation
Consultations may be requested through our website, by email or by other agreed means. A booking is confirmed only after acceptance by us and any applicable consultation fee has been paid.
3. Consultation Fee
The current fee for an initial consultation is £95 unless otherwise agreed in writing. The fee covers the consultation only and does not include any subsequent legal work.
4. What the Consultation Includes
The consultation is intended to understand your circumstances, identify the legal or commercial issues involved, discuss possible options and explain how we may be able to assist. It is an initial advisory meeting and not a full review of all documentation unless expressly agreed.
5. What the Consultation Does Not Include
The consultation does not create an ongoing professional retainer, guarantee that we will accept instructions, include drafting work, negotiations, representation or detailed legal opinions unless separately agreed.
6. Documents
Where appropriate, you may be invited to provide relevant documents before the consultation. We may not review documents received shortly before the meeting if there is insufficient time.
7. Professional Relationship
A client relationship begins only after we have confirmed in writing that we are able to act and any required engagement documentation has been completed.
8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Reasonable notice should be given if you need to cancel or rearrange a consultation. We reserve the right to determine whether consultation fees are refundable or transferable where appointments are missed or cancelled at short notice.
9. Confidentiality
Information shared during the consultation will be treated confidentially, subject to our legal and regulatory obligations and our Privacy Notice & Data Protection Information.
10. Limitation
Advice provided during an initial consultation is based on the information made available at that time. Additional facts or documentation may affect any preliminary views expressed.
11. Governing Law
These Consultation Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
